"There are no good US soldiers in Iraq"

.
From the Iraqi blogger: Truth-About-Iraqis
.

Fight on, Iraqi Resistance, for they lied and lied ...

YOU, the American taxpayer, celebrate lies.

YOU celebrate deceit.

YOU celebrate false heroes and worship a God of War.

I and thousands of others have written profusely about the lies that propelled the Iraq war.

The lies that some still believe and harbor and export and exploit.

There is only Resistance now.

I support the Iraqi resistance in every attack against the foreign transgressor -- including the angy Arab "terrorists".

We are Iraqis.

And we will fight.

We will win. Because ours is a righteous battle.

We did not invade the USA.

We did not rape its men and women.

We did not break into your homes in the dead of night.

We did not cause the death and destruction on 9/11. So many of us Iraqis were horrified on that day.

For your pain, and for our pain which we knew would come.

We did not ask you to "liberate" us.

We asked for none of the things that have transpired.

You would not believe.

You would not listen, because you are beguiled, bewitched and bedeviled.

I am sorry. There are no good US soldiers in Iraq.

Yes, you will run with your tails between your legs.

You do not deserve a democracy. You have pilfered it away.

Read about your lies:

"Pentagon: No link between Saddam and Al-Qaeda WASHINGTON (AFP):

Interrogations of Saddam Hussein and seized documents confirmed the former Iraqi regime had no links with Al-Qaeda, (emphasis added) a Pentagon report said Friday, contradicting the US case for the 2003 invasion.

A two-page resume of the report was published in February, but on Friday the Pentagon declassified the whole 120-page document.

According to the inspector general of the US Defense Department, information obtained after Saddam's fall confirmed the prewar position of the Central Intelligence Agency and Pentagon intelligence that the Iraqi government had had no substantial contacts with Al-Qaeda.

This position was shored up by interrogations of Saddam, the former Iraqi president and other top officials captured by the US-led coalition forces in Iraq, the report said.

It contradicts a strong argument for the invasion made by the administration of President George W. Bush that Baghdad had a working relationship with Al-Qaeda.

The network, based in Afghanisation and led by Osama bin Laden, was behind the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States in which almost 3,000 people were killed.

The report noted that the office of then-undersecretary of defense Douglas Feith, one of the foremost advocates for invading Iraq after the 2001 attacks, had ignored the CIA's position.

He characterized the supposed Al-Qaeda-Iraq relationship as "mature" and "symbiotic" in a September 2002 briefing to the chief of staff of Vice President Dick Cheney.

The Feith briefing alleged that the two cooperated in 10 areas, including training, financing and logistics.

But the new report says the US intelligence community had concluded at the time there were "no conclusive signs" of links between Iraq and Al-Qaeda, and that "direct cooperation ... has not been established" between the two.

Prior to the war there was little public dispute inside the United States over the Bush administration's assertions linking Iraq and bin Laden's group.

But since the invasion, a number of intelligence officials have alleged the White House and its backers ignored their intelligence and "cherry picked" information to support their arguments for a war".
.
In a radio interview Wednesday, Cheney insisted in a conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh. on a prewar link between Iraq and Al-Qaeda (April 5, 2007).

"Cheney contended that al-Qaida was operating in Iraq before the March 2003 invasion led by U.S. forces and that terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was leading the Iraqi branch of al-Qaida:

"He took up residence there before we ever launched into Iraq, organized the al-Qaida operations inside Iraq before we even arrived on the scene and then, of course, led the charge for Iraq until we killed him last June," Cheney told radio host Rush Limbaugh during an interview. "As I say, they were present before we invaded Iraq.""

Anti-US Demonstrations In Iraq

Tell us another one, Mr. Vice President

BY CARL LEVIN, a Democratic senator from Michigan, and the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
April 12, 2007

TO PARAPHRASE President Reagan, there he goes again...

It is incredible that more than four years after the invasion, the vice president is still trying to convince the public that Saddam Hussein's regime was connected to Al Qaeda and that Zarqawi's presence in Iraq was evidence of a connection...

The problem is, that's simply not supported by the facts or by our intelligence community — and everyone except the vice president acknowledges it. In September, for example, the Senate Intelligence Committee concluded in a bipartisan report that Hussein was "distrustful of Al Qaeda and viewed Islamic extremists as a threat to his regime, refusing all requests from Al Qaeda to provide material or operational support." And the CIA reported a year earlier, in October 2005, that the Iraqi regime "did not have a relationship, harbor or turn a blind eye toward Zarqawi and his associates." As the Intelligence Committee report noted, the Iraqi intelligence service was actually trying to capture Zarqawi, who was in Baghdad under an alias. Is the vice president willfully ignoring what the rest of the government has concluded? Or does he have access to information he hasn't shared with us? If so, he should produce it.

The vice president has a clear, documented pattern of overstating and misstating information with regard to Iraq. He also, for instance, continued to claim that 9/11 terrorist Mohamed Atta may have met with an Iraqi agent in Prague — long after the intelligence community believed otherwise. Again, his obvious purpose is to link Hussein's regime with Sept. 11, even though the rest of the world has concluded that no such link exists........

America's Broken-Down Army

In the immortal words of Don Heeney, playing the World War 2 board wargame Scorched Earth (as Germany was invading Russia in 1941, after he has grabbed, and had burned out within a turn or two, half of all the reinforcements due the Wehrmacht -- leaving nothing but stenographers and mess hall orderlies to stop the T-34 tanks of the Red Army):

"Troops! Troops! I need more troops! Anybody got more troops?"

Ah, what goes around, comes around. Just ask Mr. Wolfowitz these days.

What's confusing everyone is the bush/cheney rational for invading the middle east.
Everyone hears the STATED reasons.
But the stated reasons are NOT the REAL reasons which are oil and Israel.
And yes, the invasion of Iraq is a criminal enterprise and everyone associated with it are criminals. Hopefully justice will ultimately prevail.

Corporate Media Focuses On Wolfowitz’s Girlfriend, Not his World-Class War Crimes: ... [T]he “relationship between globalization and militarism ... should be seen as two sides of the same coin. On one side, globalization promotes the conditions that lead to unrest, inequality, conflict, and, ultimately, war. On the other side, globalization fuels the means to wage war by protecting and promoting the military industries needed to produce sophisticated weaponry. This weaponry, in turn, is used or is threatened to be used to protect the investments of transnational corporations and their shareholders.”

The stench of PNAC having finally begun to reach the suburbs, the keepers have moved the farm downwind to the presently less odiferous and wonderfully named Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD). Prepare to be 'defended' by the likes of these good folks. Recognize any familiar names? They tell us that "FDD was founded shortly after 9/11 by a group of visionary philanthropists and policymakers to engage in the worldwide war of ideas and to support the defense of democratic societies under assault by terrorism and Militant Islamism." Why would we not believe them?

Record of Iraq War Lies to Air April 25 on PBS: Bill Moyers has put together an amazing 90-minute video documenting the lies that the Bush administration told to sell the Iraq War to the American public, with a special focus on how the media led the charge. I've watched an advance copy and read a transcript, and the most important thing I can say about it is: Watch PBS from 9 to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25.

The program opens with video of President Bush saying "Iraq is part of a war on terror. It's a country that trains terrorists, it's a country that can arm terrorists. Saddam Hussein and his weapons are a direct threat to this country."

Video shows Richard Perle claiming that Saddam Hussein worked with al Qaeda and that Iraqis would greet American occupiers as liberators. Here are the Weekly Standard, the Wall Street Journal, William Safire at the New York Times, Charles Krauthammer and Jim Hoagland at the Washington Post all demanding an overthrow of Iraq's government. George Will is seen saying that Hussein "has anthrax, he loves biological weapons, he has terrorist training camps, including 747s to practice on."

... [A]bsurd announcements were the order of the day. A video clip shows a Fox anchor saying "A former top Iraqi nuclear scientist tells Congress Iraq could build three nuclear bombs by 2005." ...

Iraq: Erasing History: Who is erasing Iraq's history? A visitor only has to be in the country minute's before someone informs them: 'We are the cradle of civilisation' and launches in to the pride and passion of historical jewels and archeological wonders stetching back seemingly beyond time. They are not Sunni, Shia, Christian, Turkoman, Yazidi jewels, they are Mesapotamia's and have been proudly nurtured since the mists of time.

A bit of modern - by Iraq standards - history destroyed this week is the Al Sarafiya Bridge, built by the British ... in the early 1900's. Unlike many of Iraq's wonderous bridges spanning the Tigris and the Euphrates, it survived the 1991 carpet bombing, but not now the invasion. Whilst accounts differ, from a truck bomb (and there are plenty of reports of trucks, vans, cars being stopped the allied troops and their owners later finding bombs in them) one eyewitness, Farhan Sudani, states he saw a missile dropped from a US helicopter.

'Even in the Iran-Iraq war, our archeological sites, our history and theirs were respected', said a near tearful archeologist in 1991, referring to the indiscrimate destruction from the air, of humanity's history and utter disregard for civilian life, throwing to the winds, then as now, every international convention and treaty on the rules of war. It also happens to be an Zionist trait to destroy the ancient, the beautiful, the very historic soul of a nation and people, America's indivisable ally. Israeli Defence Force personnel and others, certainly came in with the US and British troops. Who else did? And remember the bomb which went off under a bridge in Iran's neighbouring province to Basra? 'This bomb has a British accent', said an Iranian government spokesman. ...

Spanish Judge calls for architects of Iraq invasion to be tried for war crimes: Baltasar Garzón, the Spanish judge who sought to prosecute Chilean dictator General Augusto Pinochet, has called for US President George W. Bush and his allies to be tried for war crimes over Iraq.

Writing in El Pais on the fourth anniversary of the invasion, Garzón stated, “Today, March 20, marks four years since the formal start of the war on Iraq. Instigated by the United States and Great Britain, and supported by Spain among other countries, one of the most sordid and unjustifiable episodes in recent human history began.

“Breaking every international law, and under the pretext of the war against terror, there has taken place since 2003 a devastating attack on the rule of law and against the very essence of the international community. In its path, institutions such as the United Nations were left in tatters, from which it has not yet recovered.”

“Instead of commemorating the war,” Garzón continues, “we should be horrified, screaming and demonstrating against the present massacre created as a consequence of that war.”

The Growing Toll Of Iraqi Civilian Deaths : ... Civilians ... many of them children, bear the brunt of relentless violence, while inadequate security conditions are disrupting the lives of millions of Iraqis. Food shortages have contributed to the rise in malnutrition; inadequate water, sewage and electricity infrastructure contribute to a decline in public health. Fuel shortages affecting power stations further aggravate the worsening crisis. Hospitals and primary healthcare centers lack supplies and are forced to rely on unreliable back-up generators,

It is estimated that some two million Iraqis are now displaced persons within their own country, while two more millions have are now refugees abroad. The Iraqi Red Crescent estimates that since February 2006, more than 100,000 families have been displaced. High among those fleeing the country are medical professionals and nurses; according to estimates published by the Iraqi Ministry of Health more than half of Iraq's doctors have left. With fewer personnel, the additional influx of civilian casualties in the hospitals places the system under inconceivable strain.

The Final Act of Submission: So if we are to continue to permit AIPAC to operate as an undeclared agent of a foreign nation, and to influence American foreign and national security policymaking at the expense of our Constitution, then we should acknowledge our true status as nothing more than a colony of Israel, pull down the Stars and Stripes and raise the Star of David over our nation’s capitol.

The Apostles of Deception: What passes for Christianity among the people, like so many things American, is not the genuine article. The sermons that rise from many of the pulpits of the churches of America are, I suspect, as counterfeit as a six dollar bill; as phony as the people running the country. ...

Millions of Americans claim to follow Jesus. Some even claim that we are a Christian nation. Yet every generation seems to crucify Christ all over again, to nail him to the cross and parade him through the streets with a crown of thorns on his head. We had Dr. Martin Luther King, the genuine article, but those in authority—the gluttonous counterfeiters of power—crucified him, aided by cheering throngs of racists. Dr. King, perhaps more than any man who has lived in our time, embodied the moral teachings of Jesus.

It is no irony that the most Christ-like among us today continue to be crucified by the money changers living in the present.

Clearly the spirit of Jesus lived and breathed in our time in the person of Dr. Martin Luther King. So did the spirit of Allah and all the great religions of the world. Dr. King gave more than lip service to religious doctrine, he breathed life into them—he made them real and relevant again. And, like Jesus, he too was crucified by the money changers. Blind obedience to authority—mob mentality—is a very dangerous and destructive force.

Within the religious hierarchy the high priests of fraud are treated like deities with a direct conduit to god, entitled to power and privileges that ordinary citizens do not have. They are no better than fortune tellers dressed in bright robes. ...

ScareJew: The big Zionist Plan for the Middle East is a long, four-part plan. The first step started with covert mass immigration of Jewish settlers on Arab lands, continued with the attacks against the British (back in the day when ‘terrorism’ was a good thing!), and ended with the establishment of Israel and the first large ethnic cleansing operation in 1947 (the Nakba). There was then a period of relative calm until the early 60s, when the second phase began. That consisted of arranging for wars to seize what is now known as the ‘Occupied Territories’, and the slow-motion ethnic cleansing which was started with the establishment of the settlements. We are now seeing the end of the second stage. The attack against Iraq which Jewish traitors fooled the Americans into making was the first part of the third stage, which is essentially Wurmser’s plan prepared for Netanyahu. The fourth and final stage will be the establishment of the Zionist Empire from the Euphrates to the Nile (Egypt is what Zionist Murawiec called “Egypt the Prize").

Wayne Madsen, April 16, 2007 -- WMR was the first to report on the establishment of a major US airbase in northern Lebanon to facilitate logistics for America's planned long-term stay in the Middle East, including the occupation of Iraq. ...

The editor reported on March 11, 2005: "Washington and Jerusalem media experts spun Hariri's assassination as being the work of Syrian intelligence on orders from President Bashar Assad. However, a number of Middle East political observers in Washington claim that Hariri's assassination was not in the interests of Assad, but that the Bush and Sharon administrations had everything to gain from it, including the popular Lebanese uprising against the Syrian occupation. ... The size of the planned air base reportedly is on the scale of the massive American Al Udeid air base in Qatar. A number of intelligence sources have reported that assassinations of foreign leaders like Hariri and Hobeika are ultimately authorized by two key White House officials*, Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove and Deputy National Security Adviser Elliot Abrams. In addition, Abrams is the key liaison between the White House and Sharon's office for such covert operations, including political assassinations."

Our Lebanese sources as well as the Lebanese daily newspaper Aldiyar now report that a NATO base is to be built soon on the grounds of the largely abandoned airbase at Klieaat in northern Lebanon. The base will serve as the headquarters of a NATO rapid deployment force, helicopter squadrons, and Special Forces units although the cover story prepared by the Lebanese and US governments is that the base will provide training for the Lebanese army and security forces. The base was pushed by elements in the office of the US Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Bush administration had recently warned Lebanon about the presence of "Al Qaeda" teams in northern Lebanon. Before his assassination, former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri was known to have been strongly opposed to any U.S. military bases in Lebanon, including the proposed airbase in Kleiaat.

The Ongoing Trials of Mordechai Vanunu
: On Friday the 13th of April, 2007, Mordechai Vanunu was informed that the Israeli government has renewed all the restrictions against him, for the fourth time.

Although 'freed' from 18 years in jail on April 21, 2004 for telling the world Israel had gone nuclear, Vanunu has been forbidden to leave Israel, forbidden to speak to media and to foreigners under the draconian restrictions of the Emergency Defense Regulations which were implemented first by Britain against Palestinians and Jews after World War II.

After WWII, a leading Jewish attorney, Yaccov Shapiro, who became Israel's Minister of Justice described the EDR as "unparalleled in any civilized country: there were no such laws in Nazi Germany." ...

On January 25, 2006, Vanunu's freedom of speech trial began which brought charges against him for giving interviews to foreign journalists twenty one times, conducting chat room conversations with other foreigners, and attempting to travel to Bethlehem on Christmas Eve, 2004.

On April 30, 2007 Vanunu will learn if he will return to jail for expressing his thoughts.

Vanunu, a Moroccan secular Jew atheist existentialist, was baptized a Christian in 1986, just a few weeks before being kidnapped, clubbed, drugged, bound and thrown onto an Israeli cargo ship leaving Rome for home by the Mossad. After a closed door trial and 18 years in jail, most all of it in solitary confinement, Vanunu has lived in east Jerusalem, forbidden to leave Israel, forbidden to speak to foreigners, forbidden to approach any embassy, he has no passport and he is required to report to the police if he wishes to sleep in another home.

Peace be with you, Kurt Vonnegut: As the media fills with whimsical good-byes to one of America’s greatest writers, lets not forget one of the great engines driving this wonderful man -- he HATED war. Including this one in Iraq. And he had utter contempt for the men who brought it about.

As for making money, "war is a very profitable thing for a few people. Jesus used to be so merciful and loving of the poor. But now he’s a Republican."

Kurt Vonnegut was a force of nature, with a heart the size of Titan, an unfettered genius who changed us all for the better. He was possessed of a sense of fairness and morality capable of inventing religions that could actually work.

The Establishment Plan for the Middle East: The Establishment Plan for the Middle East was based on a model developed by the British and French after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. You start by drawing some sloppy national borders. Then you pick as the leader of each country someone from a minority group or clan, someone who will require the assistance of the imperial power in order to stay alive. In return for imperial support, the grateful leader provides a favorable deal on the oil. The model has worked perfectly – at least from the point of view of the Establishment – for decades, and is still working like a charm in those places not touched by neocon ‘improvements’ to the model.

When a neocon’s car breaks down, he parks it in his garage next to his other vehicles, pours gasoline over it, lights it on fire, and hopes that the car, his other vehicles, his garage, his whole house, and the entire neighborhood, burns. In a nutshell, that is the Zionist model. [ . . . ]

The Inexplicable Enrichment of Bush Cronies - The Iraq Money Trail: The only people who are benefiting from Bush's war on terror are members of the Military Industrial Complex. Since 9/11, the pay for the CEOs of the top 34 defense contractors in the US has doubled, according to the August 2006 report, "Executive Excess 2006," by the Institute for Policy Studies, and the United for a Fair Economy.

Cheney himself is also taking in war profits, contrary to what he told Tim Russert on "Meet the Press" in 2003, when he denied making any money off his former employer. "Since I left Halliburton to become George Bush's vice president," he said, "I've severed all my ties with the company, gotten rid of all my financial interest."

In 2005, an analysis released by Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), reported that Cheney continued to hold over 300,000 Halliburton stock options and said their value had risen 3,281% over the previous year, from $241,498 to more than $8 million.
