Two documents ... وثيقتان
.An offical position from Chief Justice Madhat Mahmoud infroming 'Prime Minsiter' Maliki that unless the death sentence of Saddam, Barazn and Bandar is officially endorsed by the 'Presidency', i.e. Talabani and the two 'Vice Presidents' Mahdi and Hashimi, then the executions will not be legal nor constitutional.

A top secret directive from 'Prime Minister' Maliki, upon consultation with Muqtada Al-Sadr and 'National Security Advisor' Al-Rubaii, ordering that the top echelon of Mahdi Army leaders (11 names are listed) who are directly associated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are to be go underground, preferably sent back to Iran, and that the second tier of Mahdi Army commnaders are to be temporarily dispatched to the south of Iraq in response to the immenint 'surge' of the American forces and the intended campaign against the militias in Baghdad.Copy of the directive is sent to the Iranian Embassy in Baghadad,

Note on the source of the two documents:
I received many queries on the source of the above two documents. They are official correspondences, and hence not 'reported' on a public media outlet, but rather obtained surreptitiously.
The source whence they came from is, by my measure, reliable. That does not put them as absolutely beyond doubt when enquiring about their authenticity. One way of ascertaing their authenticity would be to ask the CIA or their employee Rubaii.
On the other hand, the third before the last word in the following paragraph does well apply to the paragraph itself:
"Dear Imad,
I guess that by trying to say that the execution of Saddam and his coterie was not legal you are not implying that the the thousands of fine and honourable Iraqis whom Saddam, Barzan and Awwad Al Bandar executed were "legally executed". You know very well that this gang had raped Iraq and Iraqis during 35 years of missrule and dictatorship. Any attempt to provide them with a post-humous "legal cover" is pathetic to say the least!"
The highest court of law in Iraq was attempting to provide a "legal cover", not I.
If pointing that out post-humously is to besmirch the quest for legality in a 'liberated and sovereign' Iraq, then the lenses have indeed darkened.

"I have no doubt of the authenticity of these documents especially the 2nd. Maliki knows full well the US command wants to capture and torture as many of Iraq's military aged males as possible. The Shia mentioned are his friends and supporters so he wants to protect them from American fury (Bush's). Any animal (especially bush) reacts most dangerously when cornered. Naturally, come the election next year, with the American election selectees all lined up neatly in a row like rubber ducks with their Likudnik endorsements in hand, we will hear nothing of this long planned ethnic cleansing campaign, although we will assuredly hear about the threat of Iran, determined to cobble together a nuclear bomb or two and take out Israel in one last suicidal gasp.
Of course, come the election, large areas of Iran may be already smoldering under a dreadful radioactive pall cast by “mini-nukes,” as only a blind, deaf, and dumb person—or one tuned in incessantly to Fox News—is unable to hear the alarm bells screaming, drawing closer from the distance, foretelling a terrible calamity right around the corner.

Some people tend to believe that concerns over the world’s protests can stop the US. I do not think so. ...
The US command is trying to exclude a ground operation: Iran has a strong army and the US forces are likely to suffer massive casualties. This is unacceptable for G. Bush who already finds himself in a difficult situation. It does not take a ground operation to destroy infrastructures in Iran, to reverse the development of the country, to cause panic, and to create a political, economic and military chaos. This can be accomplished by using first the nuclear, and subsequently the conventional means of warfare. Such is the purpose of bringing the aircraft carrier group closer to the Iranian coast.
The US tactics will be the same as usual: first, to neutralize the air defense and radars, and then to attack aircrafts in the air and on land, the control installations, and the infrastructure, while taking no risks.
Within weeks from now, we will see the informational warfare machine start working. The public opinion is already under pressure. There will be a growing anti-Iranian militaristic hysteria, new information leaks, disinformation, etc.
Today, the probability of a US aggression against Iran is extremely high. It does remain unclear, though, whether the US Congress is going to authorize the war. It may take a provocation to eliminate this obstacle (an attack on Israel or the US targets including military bases). The scale of the provocation may be comparable to the 9-11 attack in NY. Then the Congress will certainly say “Yes” to the US President.
: January 28, 2007 7:45 PMI have always heard that Iran was not directly involved with fueling the insurgency, despite the US administration claims to the contrary. It would seem logical for Iran to simply allow the situation to deteriorate, as the more the US loses power, the more influence Iran will gain.
Now it appears I may have to do some thinking concerning the raids on Iranian diplomatic posts and Iran's goals.
I understand that for the past several years Iran has been offering help and aid to the Iraq government, not only the in the Shia's areas but also the Kurds in the north. I just wonder if the Iranians mentioned in the second missive could be part of a military exchange invited into the country by the Shia factions of the Iraq government, with the express purpose of training the Shia militias?
